ABOUT AVENIR INTERIORS

Avenir Interiors was founded in 2020 by Kim Rushmere, which aims to bring you a full interior design service without any additional design fees involved in the purchasing process. We will manage the process from conceptual look & feel, sourcing the furniture, to ordering and managing delivery of the furniture to site.

After graduating from UCT with a Bachelor Social Science in Organisational Psychology in 2015, Kim was set up well to start her interior design studies at Design Time School of Interior Design (DTSID). She acknowledges that much of her conceptual design understanding comes from her knowledge of human psychology. Completing her Interior Design Diploma in from DTSID in 2017, she excelled and placed highly in a number of student competitions:

• 1st Place 7Storeys Burger Bar Competition

• 2nd Place Trench Town Competition

• 3rd Place Florstor OnTrend Box Competition

• 3rd Place PicBel Parcade Competition for interior lobby & atrium

• Finalist in “For the Love of Concrete” competition hosted by Cape HOMEMAKERS Expo in association with World Of Decorative Concrete (WODC)

Kim landed her first job at ARRCC, a world renowned interior design firm based in Cape Town. Here she worked closely with the director, Mark, and spend 2 priceless years honing her design skills and working on beautiful multifaceted projects (2018-2019).

From here grew Avenir in 2020, as Kim’s brand and business organically started to progress on her own. Avenir’s design philosophy is driven to express a unique story and experience for each project without breaking the budget solely on design fees.
